Hi all. Here are the dates and locations for the 2016 Tree Farm Inspector/Stewardship Forester Information and Training meetings:

March 21: Bangor; Bangor Motor Inn, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

March 23: Augusta; Maine Forest Products Council, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

March 25: Scarborough; Cabela’s Store, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The afternoon portion will be devoted to Tree Farm Inspector training, presented by Mike Dann and Gretchen Heldmann of the Maine Tree Farm Committee. Using electronic formats to streamline inspection reporting will be included in the training—yes, there is an app for that!

The morning’s agenda will include a review of the WoodsWISE Incentives Program, with cross reference between the specifications for Woodland Resource Action Plans (WRAPs) and Tree Farm standards. There will also be short updates on insect & disease conditions, invasive plant species, Statewide Standards for Shoreland Areas and other topics of interest.

The meetings will introduce new and updated specifications for Woodland Resource Action Plans (WRAPs). All Stewardship Foresters will be required to have training on the new specifications before preparing new WRAP applications dated after April 15, 2016.

LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED. Certificates will be available for Continuing Education credits.

PLEASE CONTACT ME BY PHONE OR E-MAIL to indicate which meeting you are planning to attend, so we can get a headcount.
