A PLT Workshop for Tree Farmers:

Sharing Your Tree Farm Story!

Resources, Planning Tools, Networking

As people spend less time outdoors, Tree Farmers, with their passion and commitment to the land and their connections to their community, are well positioned to help educate the general public about the importance and many benefits of forests and forest management in our world.
This free workshop provides Tree Farmers with planning support, background information, activity ideas, and resources for reaching out and hosting an event to share their story with a given audience, be it a class from a local school, a land trust organization, or other community group.

Leave the workshop with a plan that includes:

  • A brief overview of the Tree Farm program and your own Tree Farm story.
  • Activities from Project Learning Tree’s award winning curriculum.
  • Techniques to engage audiences in understanding forests and forestry related topics.
  • Strategies for working with specific audiences (ex: school groups, teachers, land trust organizations, etc.)
  • Resources that can help you plan and support a Tree Farm event.

Network at the event and make connections with Maine environmental educators, local forestry professionals, and fellow Tree Farmers.

Maine Tree Farmers and their foresters will benefit from this workshop as will others who might support Tree Farmers in hosting an event if slots are available.

Lunch will be provided!
